As I continue to read through the book of Leviticus, it’s made me wonder why exactly the Lord covered all the bases. Today I had the privilege of reading chapters 14 and 15, which are about bodily discharge, semen, and a woman’s time of menstruating. Fun times. I sort of laugh as I remind myself that I serve the God of all creation. None of this is gross to Him and He knows the best way to handle these situations in order for cleanliness to be present. It left me with the question: what does this have to do with anything???
Have you ever wondered, “Do I have to read the Old Testament? What does it have to do with me? It seems antiquated and irrelevant.” Some pastors today say that there is no need to read the Old Testament. Yikes! The short answer is, maybe you don’t have to, but you need to. This is not an exhaustive list of reasons why you need to read the Old Testament, but I hope it will encourage you to press in when it gets difficult!
Ahhh, the month of love! ? Greg and I often joke that we don’t need one day a year to celebrate our love, we celebrate all year round! Either way, February 14th is often a day married couples with children enjoy the coveted ‘date night’. If you are like me, the questions are typically, “What am I going to wear?” and “What am I going to do with me hair?” Let me help you with these beautiful, functional, and fantastic DIY hair accessories!
If you want to create a blog and search up where to start, all of the experts are going to tell you to find your niche. They will give you questions and steps to discover what it is you have to offer people, who you target audience is, and on and on. But what happens if you find you don’t have an area you are an expert in? What if you don’t have a “target audience”? The experts say that you can’t be too broad; you need to be focused on who you want to reach. So what do you do when you don’t have a niche?
A few Christmases ago, I saved up some money and got a Vitamix blender. I was pumped! My Ninja was on it’s last leg and from everything I had heard, Vitamix was the way to go when you use a blender on an almost daily basis. Not only was it Christmas Day when I opened it, but my excitement rivaled that of my children! It was something brand new, not dents or scratches, shiny and worked the way it was supposed to. When you eat just about every meal at home, this will make a mama happy! Me in emojis: ????

I believe I am among a minority of women who will not be watching the movie, Redeeming Love. Francine Rivers is really a great author and I have read a lot of her books. Her writings helped turn me into a reader! Yet, I have my precautions when it comes to watching her book-turned-movie.

Missions is something that I have not known a lot about. I’ve had this view that it consisted of a 10 days missions trip, where everyone makes sure to take plenty of pictures of them with children in third-world countries and posting it to social media. Of course, we know it is much more than that, yet, if our only knowledge comes from social media, then we only know what we know. Right? I sat between wanting to have a passion for missions, teach our children more about it, and not really knowing how or what to do, or where to even start.

We are almost two weeks into the new year and all over we are receiving the messages that come with “resolutions”. I’ve even heard one of these on Christian radio! Messages like:
30 days to a better you!
Lose 10 pounds in 10 days!
New year, new you!
If you follow me on Instagram, you caught a little sneak peek to today’s deal! Momsanity is one of my favorite places to get my protein powder. I love supporting two women who have worked hard to develop a great product for not only women, but the whole family! Despite the company being “Momsanity” and the protein powder called “Mom Fuel”, my husband and children all use it!

It seems like common sense to pray for your children when you are a follower of Christ, right? But what does it take to really get us on our knees praying for them? For me, it was the start of the teen years. Our children are currently 15, 14, 13, 11, and 10. No, it wasn’t on purpose, and yes, we know how it happened. 😉
